Emmy and Clio Award-winning director, Dennis Powers, began his career in advertising as a copy writer for J. Walter Thompson Company in New York. He then became VP / Creative Supervisor at Young & Rubicam working on the Eastern Airlines, Dr. Pepper, and Gulf Oil accounts. Subsequently, Mr. Powers became President / Creative Director of Y&R’s division for corporate communications. Following his time at Y&R, Dennis started his own production company with clients including IBM, Merrill Lynch, Sony, and PBS. He has directed many award-winning projects, including a documentary for American Masters on The Actors Studio, featuring Paul Newman, Joanne Woodward, Harvey Keitel, Eli Wallach, and Norman Mailer ; also, The New-York Historical Society, hosted by David McCullough, and a PBS documentary on Andrew Wyeth’s The Helga Pictures, with Charlton Heston.

In addition, Dennis has produced and directed more than one hundred television commercials, while receiving numerous industry awards from: the Chicago Film Festival; Houston Film Festival; Venice and Cannes Film Festivals; the Art Director Club of New York, and the CINE Golden Eagle.

Mr. Powers is a graduate of Occidental College, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Art.
